Fred's Story

It was a regular day at camp when one of the kids noticed a newcomer standing outside one of the doors. The director and camp counselors' initial response was one of reserve; of course it would be, not knowing much about the newcomer. He introduced himself to his new family by displaying a gentle, quiet and kind spirit. Pretty smart, hey! No longer an unknown visitor, the kids decided to name him Fred. A trip to the vet revealed our buddy had heartworm disease. Since the Center is ran on a shoestring budget or really no budget at all, quite naturally, the no brainer decision here was to conceive a plan to fund Fred's crrtical medical care.

There has been an outpouring of amazing and unexpected support for Fred's care and well-being. The staff and kids of KLC thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Join our KLC family and become a member of the Fred Fan Club.
